The La's' Lee Mavers has asked Pete Doherty if Babyshambles will help out with the recording of the second La's album. Mavers joined Doherty onstage during his recent solo tour, with Babyshambles drummer Adam Ficek, who was also playing on the tour, telling NME.COM that Mavers was so enamoured with playing with the group that he made enquiries about recording with them.
"He [Mavers] said how much he loved what we do, how we play, how we look," Ficek told NME.COM. "Then Peter said Lee wants us to be his backing band."
The drummer confirmed that any hook up would be to record new La's material. "Lee said he's got loads of songs written and he'd like us to get involved," he said. "I'm not sure where it'll go from here, but it's enough to get excited about."
For the full interview with Ficek, including news on new Babyshambles material and his solo project Roses, Kings, Castles, see the new issue of NME, out now.
