In the new NME: Peter Doherty and Babyshambles prepare to knock Oasis off their perch as Britain's biggest band (see photo above).
Thee Unstrung will support Peter at the Rhythm Factory on 15 May (the other support act will be Paddingtons). In case you don't know: Thee Unstrung were an English group, signed to Mercury Records (originally signed to Alan Mcgee's record label Poptones). They released an album in 2005 entitled Lie, Cheat and Steal, and then split up. One of the band members, Ben Bailey, is one of Pete Doherty's many collaborators. Thee Unstrung will reform only for this occasion (i.e. the tribute to Johnny Rhythm).
Everybody wants to be an actor! It seems Peter is going to appear on Svengali too.
Carl Barat will play at the Peace and Love Festival, to be held in Borlange, Sweden, from 22 to 27 June.
